Rurik had to make sure he didn't move too much, otherwise her plate would fall over. She needed to eat. They both did. Green eyes looked up to match hers, and his expression softened.
"I could never give up on you," He responded. He wanted to kiss her again, but he refrained for now. He was still a table for the time being. A cuddly table, but one nonetheless.
He'd been with other women before, but he'd never had a relationship quite as strong as what he had with Liath. Almost losing her for good really hammered home just how strong he felt for her, how strong their connection really was. If this couldn't break them, nothing could.
